- Install and open Kursa. Open Kursa Currency Converter from Apps in Shopify admin after installing the app.
- Choose your currencies. In Settings, enable Kursa, select at least two currencies, and choose your default display currency. Your store currency must match Shopify. Save your changes.
- Update the two HTML money formats. Copy the snippets from Kursa’s setup guide. In Shopify Settings → General → Store defaults → Change formatting, paste them into HTML with currency and HTML without currency. Save. Leave email formats unchanged.
- Enable the theme app embed. Open Online Store → Themes → Customize for your published theme. In App embeds, enable Kursa and save. Return to Kursa to refresh the setup checks.
- Preview and personalize. Open your storefront and change currency on product, collection, and cart pages. Customize flags, colors, borders, rounding, and desktop/mobile placement in Kursa Settings.
Put the switcher in your theme
Floating placement works without an app block. For custom placement, add the Currency switcher app block to a compatible section in your theme editor and select Custom placement in Kursa. Keep the app embed enabled for both modes.
Something not displaying correctly?
- Missing switcher: confirm the embed is enabled on the published theme, the app is enabled, and placement settings are correct for the device.
- Unconverted amounts: check both HTML money formats, reload the storefront, and test a product page and the minicart. Some custom theme markup may need compatibility work.
- Setup not complete: save Shopify’s changes, return to Kursa, and reload. Enabling an embed only on a draft theme does not complete the published-theme check.
- Unexpected currency: choose a currency explicitly. Kursa remembers an enabled selection in the same browser and storefront domain. Location switching only initializes the selection when no valid saved choice exists.
